Smokin’ Dave’s Backyard BBQ & Grill is Oxford, ME’s favorite BBQ food trailer. Our menu features a delicious selection of traditional BBQ favorites such as BBQ ribs and pulled pork, along with homemade sides, sauces, and desserts. You can walk up to the window, phone in your order, or even hire us for full-service catering!

Dave & Marcia’s Story

It all started with a dream and a life changing accident. When we met in 2007, Dave shared with Marcia his dream of opening his own restaurant. We both had years of restaurant experience and spent hours discussing how our restaurant would be set up, what we would serve and how great it would be to run our own place.

After Dave was involved in a serious trucking accident in 2013, he realized life was too short. He wasn’t going to delay his dreams any longer. He proposed to Marcia — she said “Yes!” We married in August 2015 and put into gear the beginnings of a food service/catering business. We began preparing food for large groups of family and friends to gather feedback and suggestions. In the fall of 2014, with Dave’s talent at smoking and grilling meat and Marcia’s baking skills, we launched Smokin’ Dave’s Backyard BBQ catering company. We became an official business in 2015 and within a couple of months, we had the amazing opportunity to become a vendor at Oxford Plains Dragway! We were so fortunate!!

The opportunity to open Smokin’ Dave’s Backyard BBQ & Grill in South Paris came in the fall of 2015. We were excited to serve our delicious homemade smoked, grilled and baked foods to all our customers!! We continued to grow and met wonderful people and made lifelong friends along the way.

In the fall of 2017, we began the process of renovating the beautiful building at 230 Main Street in Norway into our new restaurant. After several months of hard work and lots of help from local talent, our vision was complete! June 2018 marked the opening of our new location!

We operated successfully in Norway until August of 2022. At that time, our building was sold and we shifted to the food trailer we operate today. Being mobile has offered us many opportunities to travel our beautiful state and share the food we love. We have been blessed.
